April Wright, sales associate at 25 Silver Boutique in Plattsburgh, N.Y., said, “I would say just hang out with friends and find something to do on that day.”

“I’m seeing a movie with my friends this weekend,” said Amelia Steves, a SUNY Plattsburgh student.

2.) See A Movie By Yourself

Make Valentiimg_0408ne’s Day your day! Experience and go to different events on your own and prove that you can still have fun without a significant other. Seeing a movie on your own is a great way to start your Valentine’s Day!

For example, A Dog’s Purpose is currently in theaters. This movie is about a dog living different lives. It’s heartfelt and a tear jerker but perfect for dog lovers. How can you go wrong with some puppy love on Valentine’s Day?

“It doesn’t have to be about the people you’re romantically involved with,” said Amber Johnson, another SUNY Plattsburgh student,”make it about your family.”
